It has a contemporary performance layout with rear-wheel drive along with a mid-mounted engine. And it will be propelled with the most powerful EcoBoost production engine ever: a next-generation twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that could produce in excess of 600 horsepower. This new engine is based on the identical race-proven engine architecture as that employed in Ford IMSA Daytona Prototype endurance-racing efforts. The EcoBoost engine is a paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle for near instantaneous gear changes and exceptional driver control.

All of an vehicle’s capabilities – acceleration, handling, braking, safety, efficiency – can improve using advanced, lighter materials, along with the GT makes generous using these high-tech composites.

Aerodynamic efficiency is for the heart from the Ford GT design, with every slope and shape examined to lessen drag and optimize downforce. An active rear spoiler is keyed to both speed and driver input, reactively deploying and adjusting its height and/or pitch angle dependant upon conditions.

GT would be the latest proof point with the commitment by Ford Performance to take more global performance vehicles to customers worldwide. It joins the Focus RS, F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350® and Shelby® GT350R because latest addition to your Ford Performance lineup.

The All New Koenigsegg Regera 2015 a new Era

The All New Koenigsegg Regera 2015
The All New Koenigsegg Regera 2015

 The first fully robotized car

Given the latest advances in compact lightweight hydraulics, Koenigsegg has been able to robotize your entire Regera with minimal weight addition. As the Regera features functions for example; active back and front wings, chassis control and lifting system – the pumps and accumulators were already in position to connect other hydraulic operators. These subsequently replaced gas struts of equal weight – causing minimal weight impact.

Due to the above, the Regera will be the first car on this planet that operates all body closures completely automatically. The spectacle to spread out and close the whole car simultaneously through the remote or smartphone, truly turns the Regera in to a transformer.

On the surface of this, all body closures have soft latching mechanisms, giving the Regera an advanced feel. The fully robotized human body, with soft latches adds only 5 kg, making full robotization an exceptionally desirable option.

Furthermore the wing mirrors are auto-folding whilst the doors open, giving added practicality and visual drama, because the Dihedral Synchro Helix Doors swing out and rotate 90 degrees to totally clear the door opening, without protruding a lot more than the width on the door – causing them to be highly ergonomic.

Plug-in capability

The Regera utilizes an EV fire up feature. Behind the robotized rear number plate nestles a kind 2 mode 3 charging port. This means that the Direct Drive Battery could be charged either from the combustion engine or throughout the charging port. The plug-in solution enabled us to generate a novel feature we call – Battery Drain Mode, or BDM abbreviated. For example, individuals around 50 km range left for the destination or next charging point, a preset geo location or perhaps a push about the touchscreen will trigger the BDM. This means the auto calculates the driving behaviour and ensures the battery is fully drained upon arrival and is also ready for any full charge. This drastically minimize fuel consumption reduce C02 emissions because the fuel consumed is correctly optimized for that length of the journey.

The world’s first fully foldable, active, top-mounted rear wing

The Koenigsegg One:1 featured the world’s first top mounted active rear wing. This was an innovative solution that maximized down force when compared with its weight and size.

The Regera, being more luxury oriented, has had this answer to the next level, allowing the wing and fully fold into the body work enhancing the cars elegance while parking and reducing drag while cruising. The wing´s active foldable mechanism, is often a lightweight work of carbon fibre art as well as the movement is actually mesmerizing.

Sporting an exceptional exhaust-note, the Regera incorporates a custom designed, sound tuned titanium system jointly manufactured by Akrapovic. The novel exhaust system carries a fish tail outlet, envisioned by Christian, that has not been seen over a production car going back half century, and we are excited to get back the sound of earlier times!

Koenigsegg Direct Drive

As many individuals have heard, Christian isn't a fan of hybrids, because they are generally compromised on the subject of weight, complexity, cost, packaging and efficiency. Given this, the Regera will not be what we at Koenigsegg would call a hybrid, since it does not have the regular shortcomings of your hybrid. Instead, the Regera is often a new variety of Koenigsegg – and car for instance.

Traditional, what are named as parallel, hybrids are compromised and high, because they have two independent propulsion systems. Alternatively, series hybrids are less compromised with regards to weight, complexity and charges, but rather they are compromised on the subject of efficiency, while there is too much energy conversion taking.

This brings us for the Koenigsegg Direct Drive Transmission or KDD abbreviated – created by Christian von Koenigsegg and developed to the Regera from the Koenigsegg Advanced Engineering team.

The patent pending KDD system replaces the combustion engines traditional transmission and give the added benefit for pure EV mode. What is unique would be that the KDD is able to create direct drive to rear axle through the combustion engine while not multitude gears or any other traditional forms of variable transmissions, with inherently high energy losses.

During highway travel, for instance, the KDD reduces drivetrain losses, in comparison with traditional transmission or CVT by over 50%, nevertheless there is no boost or step down gear doing work in series with all the final drive – just direct power transmission on the engine towards the wheels.

To supplement the energy in the combustion engine also to allow for torque vectoring, regenerative braking, extreme drivers response, reverse as well as conversion, you can find three YASA developed electric motors. YASA´s axial flux motors are really power dense and permit direct drive, driving them to a key-ingredient to the KDD. One YASA for every rear wheel, giving direct drive – these times electric – then one on the crankshaft, giving torque-fill, electrical generation and starter motor functionality.

The three electric motors constitute the strongest electrical motor set-up in production car history, replacing the gears of an normal transmission while adding; power, torque, torque vectoring however still capable to remove weight.

The power supply and PDU with the KDD were developed and manufactured as well as Electric Supercar virtuoso Mate Rimac with his fantastic engineering team. The 620 V battery power is in the latest fully flooded type and it is the most power-dense battery power ever made for a road going car with 9,27 kWh of one's, 67 liters of volume, and 115kg of weight. Still, the full 500 kW can momentarily be drawn during acceleration and also over 150 kW is usually absorbed through the battery-pack during regenerative braking and ICE power generation mode.

Every cell in the pack is carefully monitored for voltage, state of charge, health insurance temperature. The cells are enclosed in the fully machined aluminum casing for safety and stability. The battery is located in by far the most protected area in the car – the carbon-aramid chassis tunnel. The whole power supply is actively cooled by external radiators and also the Regera´s many new electrical air-conditioning system, this can pre-cool your vehicle via the Koenigsegg app with a warm day.

The complete KDD system, for example the battery, adds merely a 88kg for the Regera´s weight, as compared to what the Regera would've weighed having a traditional ICE, coupled into a 7 speed DCT transmission instead in the KDD. Presently hardly any other hybrid Hypercar measures up to this style of weight ratio with regards to electrification. This is interesting, when they all have smaller battery capacity and much less electric power compared to the Regera.

To put it into perspective, the Regera has almost triple as much electric Bhp (700 Bhp) and also over 300 Bhp greater than its closest hybrid rival. Still the Regera seems to be very competitive weight wise, while including unusual features like a six way adjustable electrical seat and also a fully robotized body work. This is no small feature and it's also a testament to your meticulous nature from the Koenigsegg engineering team.

The combination of electrical and combustion power is simply mind boggling. When you get up to date, it really is important – How about 3.2 seconds between 150 to 250 km/h and under 20 seconds from 0 to 400 km/h?
